Seven years ago, in the heart of Long Beach, we crossed paths for the first time through a mutual friend. To say sparks didn’t fly would be an understatement — we paid little to no attention to each other, sharing nothing more than occasional glances at parties over the next five years. We never really took the time to have a proper conversation, and honestly, we didn't think much of it.

Then came the day that changed everything. Our friends Jamaica and Frantz hosted a picnic to celebrate their visit to Long Beach, and for reasons we still laugh about, Anthony walked up to me. We shook hands for the very first time and finally had that long-overdue conversation. As we talked, we discovered just how much we had in common — and just like that, the years of passing each other by faded into the background.

One day turned into many. We bonded over our love of video games, playing like kids and laughing until our stomachs hurt. We shared a passion for food and cherished moments of togetherness, binge-watching movies and TV shows. One of our favorite spots became a cozy little restaurant called Chez Bacchus. It was more than just a place to eat; it was where we could lose track of time, savor incredible meals, and bask in each other’s company.

It was only fitting that Chez Bacchus became the backdrop for one of the most unforgettable moments of our lives. Anthony arranged a private dining experience, just the two of us, in the place where we had made so many cherished memories. There, surrounded by the warmth and love that had grown between us, Anthony asked me to be his forever. As if the moment couldn't get any sweeter, our wonderful friends joined us afterward to celebrate our engagement.

Our story is proof that timing is everything. Life gave us the time to grow as individuals before deciding we were ready to grow together. What began as indifference blossomed into a partnership built on laughter, love, and shared adventures.
